We have all heard of the famous Bible story where God appears to Moses
in the form of a burning bush. (Exodus 3:2-6)
Muhammad's version of this story appears in the Quran as well. "And when he came to it (the fire), he was called by name: 'O Musa (Moses)! Verily. I am your Lord! So take off your shoes; you are in the sacred valley,
Tuwa. And I have chosen you. So listen to that which will be revealed (to you). Verily, I am Allah!
La ilaha illa Ana (none has the right to be worshiped but I), so worship Me, and perform
As-Salat for My remembrance." (Surah 20:9-14)
What is odd is that Muslims can believe that God (or Allah in their case) manifested in the form of a burning bush which demands to be worshiped, yet they claim God in no way would appear in human flesh, as in the case of Jesus, and demand to be worshiped. The Quran clearly puts limitations on what God can do.

ReplyDeleteIf all the biblical verses indicating theophanies and/or Christophanies# - even before and besides the Incarnation and the Passion of yhe LOGOS/Jesus Christ - were wrong and written without the approval of God YHWH, how is it that the Quran at first approved the Book of the "People of the Book" and Jesus Himself endorsed the TORAH, the "Law and the Prophets"? The God of Israel YHWH, who doesn't sleep nor slumber (Ps. 121: 4) - would he go for long 7-14 centuries leave/holidays, while His Word gets allegedly messy because heresy and conflict of interest of the People of the Book?
